Close enough that I can feel your light
Piercing rays, sparkling haze,
unmask my demons in the night

Come closer, love
Close enough that I can taste your fears
breathe your secrets into my trembling lips
kiss me with questions until the answer appears

Come closer, love
Close enough that I can trace your scars
Flaws from your past make you beautiful
Fingertips discovering constellations hidden within your stars

Come closer, love
Close enough that I can hold your pain
Pour your wounds into my shaking hands
Shower me with your miseries like summer rain

Come closer, love
Close enough that I can smell your skin
Intoxicated by the moment
Over
And over
And over, again

Come closer, love
Close enough that I can hear your thoughts
Swirling pandemonium wrapped in your brilliance
Reminding me of all the details I forgot

Come closer, love
Close enough that I can get lost in your eyes
Gazing toward the future without abandon
Looking far beyond any disguise

Close enough that I can crash into the chaos that you crave
Trapped within the cluttered cages of your mind
Pulsing body and rattled thoughts begging me to misbehave

Close enough that I can turn the page
The best chapter’s just beginning, now
The one where we both get saved
