New Moon in Gemini: Take This Time to Rest Until It Is Time to Fly.

The new moon represents a time for new beginnings. In ritual, it can be used to plant seeds of intention for anything you wish to manifest in your life. Yes, I said anything.
You are that powerful!
This month and the next three months we have a Super New Moon, which means the energies are a bit more intense and highly charged than we are used to. It also means that unlike regular new moons, the energies stick around longer than just a few days.
This could mean a greater potential to manifest your desires, or in some cases, could lead to lingering emotions that perhaps need to be cleared from your energy body.
That said, the new moon in Gemini has the capacity to bring astounding changes to your life when it comes to communication and self-empowerment. Gemini is an inventive, literary and clever sign, so this time in your life, if approached with mindfulness, could assist you in gaining greater clarity and insight in regard to conflicting information.
We are also more intuitive during the dark moon, so how you choose to express the messages you receive could be greatly influenced at this time. You may find that you have a deep desire to make significant changes in your life during this time, and with Gemini’s clear vision, you might be surprised at how quickly the answers you seek seem to find their way into your experience.
As regards your love life, you might find that this time brings more harmonious communication to you and your partner. You could also find yourself wanting to express yourself more openly in terms of feelings, or a pressing issue that felt unclear to you for some time could come to light and you might find yourself suddenly seeing with greater clarity and purpose.
This new moon has the potential for expansion through self-empowerment as Gemini rules the solar plexus chakra. If you have found that something within your being is off or you are looking to stand more firmly rooted in your power, then this is the perfect time to reflect on the blocks and self-imposed beliefs which might be holding you back.
Gemini is known as the trickster sign, so now would be an ideal time for this sign to show you the way. Ask to see your life or yourself from a different perspective and surely you will find greater clarity of your truth.
Keep in mind that when we approach the moon cycle with greater awareness, we empower ourselves to take more responsibility for our lives. You might notice that some people around you are more scattered, gossipy or restless during this time as this is a shadow of Gemini, so it is imperative that you not get swept away with the energy of others.
Shielding your energy is always recommended, but especially during the dark moon.
I love the moon for so many reasons, and I especially love when a moon goddess talks to me as I write about the current lunar cycle. Today the Hawaiian goddess Hina was nudging me as I was sitting down to write this article.
Hina is the goddess of communication, and is also known as a trickster goddess to the people of Hawaii. She is a facilitator of clear truth, forgiveness and communication between men and women, and as the butterfly goddess, she encourages us to fly freely. She can help birth new ideas into form, and she can assist in bringing inspiration through communication.
Some mantras for this new moon and to invoke the goddess Hina would be:
- My insecurity is replaced with wisdom.
- I honor the power of my words and I use them wisely.
- I express myself in truth.
- I forgive perceived past transgressions, and see all in their highest divinity and form.
Overall, take some time for self-reflection and care during this time. Your vessel is affected by the pull of her, so be compassionate with yourself as you navigate the energy. Take some time to pamper yourself with luxurious, soothing creams as well as warm foot-baths or hip-nourishing Yoga practices.

Card Message: Being ready, bringing something to light, confidence.
The overall message is that this is the perfect time to begin new things (hello, new moon!), however, the Poised card is not necessarily about forging ahead. As you can see, she has wings on her back, but she is staying close to the ground for now as she reaches up towards the stars, which brighten under her touch.
In relationships and in prosperity, you have what it takes to give and receive from the heart. Be yourself, stay open, and don’t be afraid to share your light. Use your self-expression in order to cultivate the truth that resonates with your soul and you are sure to succeed.
May you find endless illumination in the darkness as your wings take this time to rest until it is time to fly.
