What Happens When You Return to Your Heart?

On the hero’s journey, I sometimes reflect: What happens when we let go and abandon ourselves inside of the heart? Is there something left over when we discard everything that we once knew into the rich waters of everything we don’t?

Spirit, hearing our call, takes us then into the conclaves of its heart. Into the truth of the matter and the eyes of the world that we once knew, but long ago separated ourselves from.

You see, when we reclaim our soul’s path, everything comes back with it. All the mysteries from the past, and the lies we once told ourselves, surface. So that one by one, we can sort through the tapestry of what we thought our hearts were, in order to recreate and reshape it inside of sacred light.

By examining each piece of what was, we get to see what is.

The trudging feels like death sometimes. As we gently step into the past, describing each shadow. As our physical presence takes shape inside of trauma, we feel the reverberations of what was the truth then.

In so doing, our bravery for living this life becomes oh-so-clear. Although the sacred journey does not feel this transparent sometimes, as we sort through dirty laundry and try each sock on. It hurts, because the stories don’t fit anymore.

But still we persist — forward, onward, and upward. The hero’s journey continues.

Riding the sacred spiral of life, eventually we learn to let go and allow each surfacing energy to release. Then we don’t need the stories anymore. When we learn to abandon our experiences to God and the forces of nature unseen.

For the mysteries of light and love are what guide us through each day anyway. And the sooner we learn to let go with the mind, the sooner our journey toward riches flourishes with golden abundance.

It’s here that our soul celebrates. Inside the heart-centered mind which doesn’t think, but feels.

It feels like a return to the way we once were. Creatures born to feel their ways through life. To make decisions by what our body experiences as peaceful and right, rather than an ego-mind’s should.

So, when we abandon ourselves to the heart, we let go into this: the yin movement of our experience, the intuitive narrative through which God speaks. We relax into the wisdom flow of life’s path, pick up what we need, and let go of the rest.

From here we may reflect again: What happens when we let go and abandon ourselves inside of the heart? Is there something left over when we discard everything that we once knew into the rich waters of everything we don’t?

The answer is now clear. The answer is, everything.

For once the ego identity is shed and the heart reawakens, we step from a grey to a technicolor landscape. It is an ego-less state where we know nothing, yet everything.

We are free. Free from the past and awake to the present.

Then, the world leaps forward in love. We greet it with open arms, recalling that our journey here on Earth school is one towards consciousness, unconditional love, and soul re-awakening. We return to Spirt’s natural order. Where we sit inside the heart and truly feel what it means to be real, authentic, and alive. We return to everything.
