He Loved Her for Everything She Was.
By Julia Franke.
Unknown Goddess
She could never see herself in his eyes.
He saw her as beautiful and strong.
He thought she was the embodiment of woman,
His own personal Goddess.
When she was around, his soul felt nourished.
He loved her for everything she was,
everything she is,
everything she will be.
She doesn’t see any of this.
She saw herself as weak and flabby.
She obsessed over her soft spots and jiggle.
He loved her jiggle, her softness, her warmth.
He loved to hold her supple flesh.
She felt less than.
She obsessed, couldn’t fully enjoy his love.
She stood naked, inspecting every aspect of her body with disdain.
He stood behind her.
Admired her without her knowing.
He was more enchanted with her this day, this moment,
than on the day of their wedding.
Their eyes both gazed upon the same body,
each having hugely different experiences,
Yet each experienced a personal reality.
