As we go: the pursuit of wander.

To go. To follow. To seek. To search. To explore. To look. To wander.
Travelling can mean so many different things. The act of going. The act of coming back home. And all that happens in between.
Man has always been fascinated by the idea of travelling and knowing far off places. An outward journey that enriches all the worlds you carry within.
To go out into the world. To absorb. To come back. To restore. To feed your soul.
“I was surprised, as always, by how easy the act of leaving was, and how good it felt. The world was suddenly rich with possibility.” – Jack Kerouac
In 2015, we will be going on a road trip across the United States, spending close to a month on the road. We will get a little taste of both oceans, Atlantic and Pacific. We will wander in the desert. We will let ourselves be surrounded by mountains. Immersed in Nature.
We will write it all. What we saw, what we felt, what we didn’t see, what we just glimpsed at. We will write about all things and capture every possible moment. We will recreate our own perspectives.
“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” – Henry David Thoreau
We haven’t left yet and I can tell already that this will be such a life changing experience. This will change us, somehow. This will leave an imprint in our beings. This will be a journey we might actually never come back from.
And would that be so terrible? To not return the same people we were before leaving. To bring back inner lessons which only one of us or both will know about, and not be able to explain it.
Because the truth is, you have to go, to figure what it is all about.
To explore someplace completely out of your comfort zone, your familiar places, your habits. At least once, travel into the unknown. Because your life is calling and that is it: You have to go.
