Go Mad For What You Believe In.
You must write like you’re obsessed and possessed.
You can’t let the objectives of right and wrong hinder you from pushing through. You must let the words flow like a storm you can’t stop, and don’t look up until it’s all over. Until you let your arms rest with a deep breath and feel relieved that you got all through. You kept up.
You are the sky, and the rest is just weather — coming and passing, while you’re standing tall. It will be messy. Chaotic. A beautiful catastrophe. The mental picture of an ordinary youth, living an ordinary life, in an ordinary town, with an extraordinary mind.
Because your external circumstances will not matter if you see wider and further than what you simply just see. You must be mad enough, strong enough, brave enough, to turn inwardly. Everything you’ll ever need to create eternal passages of magic is already within your reach. Just close your eyes and trust. You must write like you’re obsessed.
You must be a myth that your lover can’t grasp, and you must chase the moon like a wolf in the night, as if it will show you something only you can understand. Everything you do is a ritual that can mean something more, and you must connect and create bonds with the spirits both outer and inner.
Seek the strange and mysterious, otherworldly explanations for yourself and things around. There is always more. Always more. Nothing is ordinary if you trust it to be so, and you must make love like every touch is your salvation. You must dare to love and lose, and hear your heart break into a million little pieces that glitter like diamonds in the night.
Wear a thin, white dress, let down your hair, and don’t be scared. And don’t run into hiding when the rain hits us like planets shot down to see who wants to survive the most — for you want to survive the most — and you must not hide from madness.
Embrace it and seek it like only you can understand it. Grasp it, transform and make use of it, and you will, in time, understand. Keep your mind wide open to the new and the wild and unaccepted ideas that might not make sense… that’s why you want them.
You must love and live and write like you’re obsessed and possessed. Go mad for what you believe in.
