Discover The Gifts Of Wide Openhearted Living.

Learning to listen your heart is one thing, but trusting it blindly to lead you wherever it will is quite another, especially when it feels like it’s bleeding profusely over everyone and everything and you don’t know when it’s going to stop.

But if you have gotten to that point, it’s too late. It is happening, and there is only one thing you can choose: complete and total surrender.

Your body and mind may grow and learn, but your heart is always a child. It seeks only to explore its experience and express itself in the moment, and when it doesn’t get its way, it cries and screams and misbehaves, caring not for the consequences.

But when the ego engages, the consequences can become all too apparent and we will often choose to lock the heart in a cage, gagged and bound, rather than let it speak. We choke and smother it because we judge and are embarrassed by it. We would rather kill it than live a life trying to control it, because we know that it can’t be controlled.

You can’t rationalize with a child and you can’t rationalize with your heart. The will of the heart is stronger than any reasoning because its will is love, and love is utterly free. Love is completely unpredictable, has limitless power and is capable of anything.

Our heart is the middleman between us and God — the meeting point of our humanity and our divinity — where divine wisdom and newborn innocence join forces.

Our hearts are the place where our true creativity and power is born, but to allow the heart its freedom, we must allow ourselves to lose our minds. The intellect becomes useless on a heart-led path, and that takes courage. We know nothing and can only feel. We are forced to intuit and we must learn to cultivate blind faith.

In following the heart we learn to trust truly, blindly and deeply. We believe in life and living and love and loving, for no reason at all.

Reason dies when the heart leads, and so when the heart leads, it can seem that all hell is breaking loose.

Following the will of our hearts is messy and can feel dangerous. The moment is all we know, and it can feel like it may consume us. We truly are living on the edge, riding the wave on the cusp of heaven and earth.

The highs are great and the views incredible, but it can crash and the lows are just as huge, so it’s understandable that we try to restrict, numb, ignore and distract ourselves from it.

But the heart, like a child, is surprisingly manipulative, and never gives up. Sooner or later, it will scream so loudly that you will have to listen, and it will coax you to let it out of its cage; just be gentle with it when you do.

A kid you’ve ignored and held hostage for years knows it has a lot of catching up to do. It is likely to go on an exploration and expression spree so intense that you will feel like a total maniac.

Give an open heart an inch and it will take a thousand miles.

It does not understand half-measures. It will be fragile and sensitive and throw itself, and you, around regardless. When you crack it open, it is likely to bleed; sometimes just removing the chains will cause it to bleed out uncontrollably, but just let it. Hold it as it does so, and reach out to others to hold you.

Do whatever you need to do to let it out because once you have set it free, it will show you everything.

Through the eyes of the heart, life can be seen and loved in every shade. We can only know the full spectrum of what is available to us as the divine in human form by feeling every color and learning to love it all, especially the parts that we judge or don’t like.

You will be called to bask equally in your divine glory and your human pain, over and over until it becomes one and the same. You won’t be able to smother any of it, just like you can’t smother a child. It will emerge repeatedly in all its technicolor brilliance, and so will you.

Be ready for it; it’s bright and it may blind you and others at times, but you have to keep going.

Keep allowing life to break you open and your heart to make the decisions, because the sound of it screaming will drive you crazy if you don’t.

It takes time to align yourself with the craziness of your heart, but when we do, we find peace. Every single breath becomes a gift that touches to the core of our soul, every step we make a dance with the divine, and every sound we hear a note in the glorious symphony and roar of being alive; we become an open vessel for it all.

You are the sunshine and the rain, the rainbow and the pot of gold, the storm in the darkness and the lighthouse that emerges from within it that calls and guides others to know and do the same.

Only your heart can lead you to the love and freedom of which you are made. Trust that it knows where you need to go.
