The World Needs Your Medicine, Woman.
I have been a longtime fan of the Feathered Pipe, ever since my feminine awakening when I started to follow the work of Jean Shinoda Bolen.
Last summer, while sitting in the desert of Taos, New Mexico, minding my own business, and boiling and toiling away on the Coven Conversations, a 26-women conference to raise feminine energy on the planet, Feathered Pipe called. They were ready for Shakti Sunfire and me. We were ready for them. They asked, we said “Yes,” to a Summer SOULstice event on their sacred ground.
A little background about Shakti and me. I met Shakti at a women’s gathering five years ago in Hawaii. She was my first introduction to a living goddess, and at the time she was on the cover of Yoga Journal and I was a newly awakened ex-rock journalist with a ton of inner work to do.
Still, a vision persisted in my soul, one I couldn’t escape. We began leading Wild Women Retreats together. We were naked in water, we were barefoot by the fire, we were howling at the moon, we were dancing our dreams into reality. I got the nerve to tell her, on the last day of that Hawaii retreat. Remember, I had never led a retreat, and DoItGirl was just a baby.
I sneaked up beside her. I whispered my dream in her ear. “Yes,” she said. “Yes, we will.”
Boom. Seed planted. Seed nurtured.
Three years later, our first Waking The Wild Woman retreat in Joshua Tree. An international coven formed. It spread, and grew, as women everywhere were waking up to the Goddess as she re-emerged at this crucial time on earth. Last year we howled in Joshua Tree. This year… it’s the sweet and wild land of Montana.
We’re so ready to teach on sacred archetypes, witch wounds, wild women, crones, holy sacred personal myths, what it truly means to be Wild, how to lead in fullness, working with shadow, and so, so much more. We are joining together at the solstice to celebrate. We’ll be there on a Full Moon, and we will join in sacred ritual, to call forth our most celebratory sacred parts to rise.
This will be a time of great joy and fertility of our dreams, of marriage of the sacred masculine and feminine in ourselves and for the planet.
We are calling YOU. Can you hear it? Will you answer? Dreams come true. We are a living embodiment of the power of dreams. What are your dreams? Come sing them into being with us on the sacred land of Feathered Pipe.
India Supera, Founder, Visionary & Executive Director has this to say:
“My own mother was born in a time when women couldn’t vote. When her mother died, her father insisted she leave college to take care of her sisters, and she made sure both of her sisters were college graduates.
She was able to vote due to the activism of her mother’s generation. I was able to pursue my dreams because my mother claimed her own power, created a career for herself, and always demonstrated to me that women have the power to dream.
She was a spiritual activist; I feel that Laura, Sarah and I are the activists and teachers of the new generation. Join us this summer with your daughter, sister or mother. We older Amazon warriors have much to learn about how these younger women impart wisdom.”
About Sarah Durham Wilson (DoItGirl)
Formerly a rock journalist, Sarah sped through a whirlwind five years at Rolling Stone, Vh1, GQ, Vanity Fair, and Interview magazines. After a lifesaving feminine awakening, she realized the vital medicine of feminine energy, that it needed to be raised not just in women, but in all beings, to heal and balance the planet.
She then immersed herself deeply on the path of the Goddess, and chronicled her feminine awakening under the pen name DoItGirl. She is a women’s writer who walks the line of her humanity and divinity.
She leads courses and retreats to actively engage women in healing the self to heal the world, and the intention of the art she offers to the planet is to raise the energy of the feminine back in the bodies of men and women, and therefore, the body of the earth itself.
She believes that once a woman moves inside of herself to heal her own body, she rises to heal the body of the world.
