Fear Is Why We Hunger for Destruction, and What to Do About It.

Who or what is to blame for the current state of the world? Too often we answer capitalism or patriarchy, but I believe these are symptoms of a deep fear of annihilation.

A committed, rational capitalist would also be a pretty decent human being. To maximize profit now and in the future, you would need a healthy environment for your customers and employees. You would have to plan ahead, which means finding renewable resources. Discrimination would only mean fewer sales. Pollution and the exhaustion of the earth would only mean the destruction of future prospects.

A good bookkeeper knows this.

So a desire for abundance is really not the issue. Fear is. And fear leads to greed. As if excessive wealth has ever protected anyone from anything.

According to chakra psychology, this is the domain of the first chakra. Its basic desire is to survive, and anything perceived as beneficial to survival is held on to for dear life. And conversely, anything interfering with that desire has to be destroyed. If we didn’t feel completely safe and loved during the first six or seven years of our lives, this chakra is wounded.

We call this the mother wound and, let’s face it, most of us have one.

Then the ego, which is part of the third chakra, will start to compensate by trying to control the world with clever schemes. It’s always looking for ways to become more safe and more loved. However, it does this by dividing the world into painful and pleasurable, desirable and undesirable, winners and losers, mine and yours. Because it’s blinded by fear, it can’t see that actually, we’re all in this together.

It’s a sign of our collective illness that we allow the most injured people to rule us.

On a rampage to finally get from our mothers what we needed to begin with, we are on the brink of destroying Mother Earth.

The solution to our current problems is not only sitting at home and working on our mindset, although it is a good and necessary start. It’s also not going into a self-righteous rage and trying to convince the opposition with rational arguments.

People like Donald Trump can’t be convinced with reason, because all he hears in negative reactions to him is “you’re not worthy.” For him, the only solution to this new wound is to become more power-hungry, more angry, and more closed-off.

When a child does something bad, it’s a cry for attention. We say that all the time, but we don’t always take it to its logical conclusion. To the third chakra, receiving attention is a success, because it distinguishes the person from those who don’t receive it. The child is now more special than others, even if the attention itself was negative.

But being special is not the same as being loved, so nothing is solved. The hole inside remains.

This isn’t any different for adults.

Once we’ve given it’s some thought, we know what to do with enraged little children. Berating them only makes things worse. No, we make them feel cared for and appreciated. We show them they deserve love and are lovable. We encourage positive behavior.

It’s time we do that for ourselves and all the other violent and violated children of the earth, including Donald Trump.

That’s why it’s now her mission is to discover how we can use magic and Yoga to find divine inspiration (and become wild and free souls in the process).
