Unspoken. {poetry}
There is so much freedom and healing that occurs when we voice the unspeakable, name what is shameful, and let our stories be heard.
During the revelations and #MeToo stories that we’ve witnessed this past year, there was an incredible, powerful wave of connection that rippled around the world. This is the start of a whole new era. Activist Tarana Burke started this movement back in 2007, and yet we have only seen the tip of the iceberg of this great unveiling. So much more will reveal itself over the coming months and years.
The body stores everything, particularly every feeling and trauma that we have never fully expressed. Our womb-space and major organs are memory banks, saving everything up until we choose to face them and listen. As the saying goes “If you want to heal it, you need to feel it,” one of those challenging truths. This is the time where so much of what has been buried can no longer be hidden.
We are being challenged to be compassionately truthful first with ourselves and then with everyone else. It’s time to let go of the good girl archetype who wants to be loved at all costs and not take up too much room.
We are living in a time when we may be the first soul in our family who has openly verbalized what has previously been ignored, denied or trivialized. Just imagine for a moment that you are carrying everything that has been unspoken by your ancestors. What if you are the alchemist of all these experiences?
Imagine that you are the spokesperson for those who have gone before you, who didn’t have a voice. You are that beacon of light and truth who says Enough. This is what I was contemplating in my journal when these words flowed.
Unspoken
Nothing weighs heavier than the words you never say.
In your cells, your blood and your DNA.
Patterns percolate and fester, implode and blister.
From mother to daughter, brother and sister.
Along the family channels, links and lines.
Trapping beliefs and patterns through time.
So do yourself a favor and your ancestors too.
Be the most fully expressed version of you.
Release your burdens and have no regrets.
Let go of the weight of karmic debts.
No more excuses. No more delays.
If you released your fear, what would you say?
What are the words you are carrying inside?
Let them flow like a cleansing tide.
Free yourself across all time and space.
Open yourself deeply to Universal grace.
Speak your truth and let yourself be seen.
Share your heart and say what you mean.
What is yearning to be expressed?
Take one step and trust the rest.
Doors will appear within those old walls.
The world is waiting. It’s you she calls.
You are the missing link with all answers inside.
Let them shine forth, illuminating far and wide.
