Analyze Your Fears: Why It’s Not About Being Fearless.

I bet you can’t count how many times you’ve been afraid in your life. I know I can’t. I think I lost count at fourth grade sleepover summer camp.

Fear plays a huge role in our lives, and if we don’t learn to understand and dance with it, it can take over our lives.

But fear is normal.

Fear will never go away, so you must learn how to become a Fear Fighter.

Fear Fighters are the very courageous few who are willing to do the bold work of looking fear straight in the eye so they can live with nothing holding them back.

Fear Fighters know the difference between real fear and false fear. They know how to identify fears that are trying to warn them of something and fears that are just trying to keep them stuck.

Fear Fighters easily recognize the voice of their intuition and the sneaky voice of their fear. They know exactly what to do to analyze their fears, identify the purpose of those fears, and gracefully move forward with confidence.

It isn’t about being fearless.  It’s about having less fear.

What separates those living big and those who simply are standing at the window longingly looking into the party is the simple idea of feeling the fear and doing it anyways.

In short, the quality of your life is in direct correlation with how much fear you can handle.

If you’re human, you’ve experienced fear.

We’re all afraid. It’s part of being alive. We all have it.

It appears that we all have different fears. But we actually all have some version of the same three fears or irrational beliefs:

I am not enough.

I don’t do enough.

I don’t have enough.

When you recognize that these three thoughts are the basis for what’s keeping you stuck, you can begin to challenge these belief structures.

So this truth is all about just accepting that fear is freakin’ normal!

It’s okay! It’s only when we run from it and stuff it down and ignore it that we get into trouble.

Be a Fear Fighter with the following three tools in your arsenal:

1. Stop thinking about the big picture.

You’re not supposed to have it all together. You will know more when it’s time to know more.

We often look so far into the future, we get scared to take the next step. You don’t have to understand how it will all work out. You just have to take the next obvious step in front of you.

2. Never stop talking to yourself or being in dialogue with your fear.

Remember that you’re here for something great, and the little whispers you hear are guiding you. Trust that as you move out on your journey and continue to smack down fear, your life’s path will unfold in a way that is beyond your wildest dreams.

3. Find another Fear Fighter.

See if you can find at least one person who you can count on to go to when you’re in a place of fear. This person is someone who is rooting for you no matter what, who truly has your back, who wants you to be the happiest version of you.

These tactics are your arsenal for smacking down your fear. They can be used individually or simultaneously.  I trust that you’ll know which one to use at the right time.
