Thunder Moon in Aquarius: These Are Truly Powerful Times.
Today is set to be a big day for our relationships as we witness the Full Thunder Blood Moon in Aquarius.
The Thunder Moon received its name from the Algonquin, since during this time of year, thunder and lightning make up the night skies. In other parts of the world, this moon is called the Moon of the Hungry Ghosts to signify honoring the dead and leaving offerings for our ancestors. Still in other parts of the world, this moon is celebrated as the Mead Moon if crops are tall and healthy.
Additionally, we welcome this moon as the longest total lunar eclipse of the century. Lunar eclipses are known to give the moon an orange-red color giving it the title of Blood Moon.
These times are truly powerful for us in our individual expressions. So as I tuned into what this moon is set to bring with it, the strongest message that came through was around relationships.
This full moon falls under the sign of Aquarius. Aquarius is a freedom-seeking sign, and those born under this zodiac are known as the change-makers. They are usually ones who set out to create something new, and usually have no trouble creating something totally original and inspiring for the rest of us to follow.
In terms of relationships, they might have ways of being with others that are a bit outside of the norm or don’t quite fit the box that most of us categorize relationships into. They feel deeply, but often have difficulties expressing their feelings.
Of course, all of this is just the basic and shortened version of this sun sign — keep in mind that other variables, such as moon and rising sign, will also play a key role in personality.
That said, the biggest message I received from Spirit was that this full moon has the potential to dramatically change and shift the relationships you have with others. You might find yourself more fully charged with emotions, and might seem to have an easier time expressing what you are feeling to other people. I get the sense of words flowing forth freely without the need to filter yourself.
This could be a really good thing, but please bear in mind that in some cases, where you feel the need to express your anger or frustration with someone’s behavior, the full moon energy could have you saying things you might wish you hadn’t. Aquarians are known to give it to you straight, so stay mindful of what you want to say and know that your point can still be made without the sting of hurtful words.
Another message I am getting this month is that independence will be high on your priorities. Maybe it might be time to find some more independence in your partnership? Or perhaps to give others in your life the freedom to exert their own independence?
Either way, being who you truly are without succumbing to what others want you to be or what you think is acceptable to be will pay off majorly within the coming months. You are given this opportunity to loosen the reins a bit and enjoy the freedom of simply being You. Others will appreciate the gift of you allowing them to be themselves as well. It’s a win-win for everyone.
The new moon is always a time of intention-setting and seed-planting, and the full moon is the time for us to reflect and maybe celebrate. If you set an intention with the last new moon, this would be a time to celebrate your successes, both big and small. In terms of relationships, it is an opportune time to celebrate your own personal growth, and that of your partner’s if you have one.
In England, when the crops are high and healthy, the farmers would celebrate with a mixture of honey, malt and yeast under the Mead Moon. Now is a time of togetherness and celebration. Look at how far you have come over the past few months, and celebrate the growth you see in yourself and those around you.
This week, when I asked the The Wisdom of the Oracle deck by Colette Baron-Reid what the message for the collective was in terms of this full moon, the card received was Clean it up.
In terms of relationships, this card makes a lot of sense for this full moon. What needs to be said to clean things up? Where do you need to take more responsibility for how things are between you and yourself? And between you and another? What are you holding on to?
It is time to clean up unhealthy behaviors, thoughts, feelings you have towards yourself and others. Let the energy of the full moon give you the zest and zeal to make the changes necessary in order to elicit more growth. Say the words that need to be said, express the feelings that need to be expressed, and start living from your heart and what feels good to you.
May this Full Blood Moon in Aquarius give you an abundance of freedom, energy, and love.
And so it is.
