didnwannadoit!
Whilst conjuring an alternative country rock album with the great and powerful Jay Ferguson (formerly of the rock band Spirit, amongst other prodigious rock credits), I felt a song coming on.
I do not play an instrument, so I sang and described a particular groove to him, and asked him to record it, and to give me plenty of it. Well, this is the long and winding, madcap song that grew out of that groove, all of its own accord. As I drove around Los Angeles, the chorus kept coming at me first, “I didnwannadoit, I didnwanna dare, I didnwanna get mad, I didnwanna care…” I was, at first, pretty appalled that I seemed to be writing a song that, albeit in an obviously ridiculous way, was going to be about… blowing things up?! And then, because questioning it and judging it kept blocking it from being born, I invoked the goddess Kali, and welcomed the rest of the song. It became this performance art video that could not be denied.

Suzie Plakson is an actress, singer, sculptor, and writer of many colors. At some point, she will have decided what she wants to be when she grows up. Until then, she goes on acting, writing, singing, sculpting, and encouraging the creative imagination, hoping to inspire all make and manner of cavorting outside the proverbial Box, which is, and always was, after all, just a rumor anyway. She can be reached via her website, and her general point of view is easily discernible at her official Facebook page.
